Death Battle: Power of the Divine (Prelude)

King: Hell yeah! A new year means a brand new episode of Death Battle!!! Who here’s ready for some action!

Void: King.

King: What’s that Void?

Void: January was literally two months ago, it’s the middle of February by now.

(Note: this joke was funnier back in February)

King: Oh, wait what?!? So like why can’t I remember anything from last time until now? Are you hiding some-

Void: King, the more we sit and around and argue the more your salary’s going to get dropped. So stop bitching, we have job to do.

King: … no pls.

Void: Anyways, the battle between the forces of good and evil have been waged for the millennium. The constant struggle between light and dark is a never-ending battle that has brought waste to the lands that were fought upon.

King: Today, we’re putting this war to an end. We’re gonna see which force is truly is better light or dark.

Void: Palutena, The goddess of light that watches over Skyworld!

King: And Ganondorf, the dark calamity of Hyrule!

Void: I’m Void and he’s King.

King: It’s our job to find out who would win, a DEATH BATTLE!!!

Name: Palutena.
Occupation: Goddess of Light, Ruler of Sky World.
Height: 5’10”.

Seems to always have food on the mind.

Void: As legends go, there are three major realms that make up the world in which we inhabit. The Overworld, otherwise known as the Surface World, is the realm in which mortals inhabit and live their prospering lives.

King: The underworld realm is basically hell but with a different name, a place where all the evil bad guys and devils hang out and plot evil schemes.

Void: Then there is the final realm, Skyworld! A land full of clouds as far as the eye can see and where various angels run amuck.

King: Though there is one person who watches over ol’ Angel Land the Goddess herself, Lady Palutena! Being the Goddess of light, it’s Palutena’s job to protect the land from any sort of evil that rears its own ugly head.

Void: While most of the hard work is carried out by the Skyworld Army, Palutena herself isn’t afraid to step into battle herself.

King: This Goddess all sorts of powers at her disposal such as telekinesis, astral projection, forcefield creating. Hell she can even equip herself with various weapons that have long-ranged and close-ranged options.

King: Hang on, lookin’ at this list these are all the powers that the Angel Boy uses in Uprising. Can she even use any of them?

Void: Fair point but remember, it was stated that these powers were created by Palutena herself so that Pit can use on his journey. Her boss fight in Uprising even appears that she’s using some of these powers herself such as Blindness for Cover your Eyes or Super Speed for This Might Sting. Which should be justification that she can use these powers.

King: Bruh, you were talkn’ for so long that I stopped paying attention.

Image result for ganondorf execution gif

Ganondorf has shown a bizarre amount of resistances and immunities to several forms of magic as well as many standard attacks this may be possible due to his link to the Triforce of Power.

Conventional Weapons: Many standard weapons are unable to harm many versions of Ganondorf such in Wind Waker as when the Master Sword lost its holy based abilities it simply bounced off of Ganondorf though keep in note that some versions of Ganondorf can be harmed through brute force.

Invisibility: Many highly trained Gerudo are able to see invisible foes and as the Gerudo King and his status of a warrior he can likely do the same.

Mind Manipulation: Ganondorf was capable of spending prolonged time next to the Twilight Mirror with seemingly no negative effects, simply touching a single shard of the mirror can make people sick and drive them mad.

Time Stop: Albeit a limited resistance, he broke free of the time stop that was placed upon Hyrule by the goddesses, but did so over the course of centuries.

Void: If the Gerudo King doesn’t feel like fighting with his fists he has all sorts of weapons from swords, to dual swords, to giant swords.

King: Something tells me that this guy likes swords. Also compensation jokes haha funni.

Void: Though Ganondorf’s ultimate weapon isn’t a large blade or a trident but rather his own piece of the Triforce, the Triforce of power.

Weapons/Equipment

The Triforce of Power

Image result for the triforce of power gif

One of three pieces of Triforce which were bestowed upon by the Din the Goddess of Power. Other than increasing his magical powers and his physical strength it grants Ganondorf several special abilities, not only does it grant Ganondorf standard immortality and healing but he is capable of being reduced to his soul to simply recreate his body once again. Like Link and Zelda, he is capable of reincarnating himself but unlike Link and Zelda, he can do this manually.

The Sword of the Six Sages

File:Twilight Princess HD Artwork Ganondorf (Official Artwork).png

The original holy weapons used in an attempt to kill Ganondorf which Ganondorf used after killing his attempted executers, to it being a holy weapon it will not suffer the effects of other holy weapons like the Master Sword sealing it away and while it is powerful against evil beings it can still kill non-evil beings as well, as an added bonus it is capable of somewhat negating ones healing ability as not even Ganondorf was able to fully heal his scar.

Dark Mirror:

A mirror that reveals the evil within someone in which Ganondorf used this to create the Dark Links, though the effects wear off if the mirror is broken.

Giant Dual Swords

Two gigantic blades he gains when entering a transformation, while they have no special magic properties they are powerful enough to easily destroy broken segments of the Hyrule castle as well as nearly kill Link with a single blow.

Gauntlets

A pair of magical gauntlets he gains, one launches a blast of fire while the other fires a blue ball that expands to create an explosion, they can be destroyed with enough force, however.
King: If Ganondorf needs any more extra firepower he can use the Triforce of Power and transform into one tough sanavabich. Ganondorf discards his humanity and turns into the demon king, Ganon.

Void: Ganon, to put it simply, is Ganondorf’s rage brought out. He is a monstrous being full of anger. And with great demonic power comes new abilities and powers.

Transformations

Warlock Ganon

Image result for ganon

The most common transformation Ganondorf goes through, Ganon gains an increase in strength, power, and magic while retaining most of his intelligence plus he is so tough that the standard Master Sword can not even harm him. Here he gains the Dark Trident as well as the ability to teleport, breath fire, shoot lasers, and create clones of himself.

Ocarina of Time Ganon

A transformation when his anger hits a peak and while rage-fueled and more violent than his Warlock form he does retain enough intelligence to use dual swords. Here he is so tough that The Master Sword has absolutely no effect on his body except on his tail and Zelda’s most powerful attacks only managed to hold him off for a few seconds.

Dark Beast Ganon

One of Ganon’s more animalish transformations, here he charges around destroying whatever is in sight, the only way to harm him is by hitting the scar left by the Ancient Sages. He can revert back whenever he wants.

One of Ganon’s largest forms where his trident increases as well, he still retains his intelligence as well as his ability to use magic he can fire Deku seeds from his horns as well as levitate, breath fire, fire orbs of darkness, and bolts of lighting. He is so large that his roar can knock back hordes of small monsters. He can only be stunned by Light Arrows to the face

Calamity Ganon

An incomplete monster form which forced into after an interrupted reincarnation and is one of the most insane and violent versions of Ganon. Here he can create Malice, a deadly liquid-like poison damaging anyone who touches it, and has glowing eyes that can create corrupt creatures. He is also capable of resurrecting his followers through the Blood MoonIn this form he was capable of defeating Link and Zelda, and took four powerful laser blasts from the Divine Beasts. He wields the Guardian Weapons that his Blights once had the Waterblights spear and energy shockwave, the Wind Lights Tornadoes and energy blasts, the Fireblights flaming sword and fireballs, and the Thunder Lights thunder attacks. If low on health he can cover his body in an orange armor making him impervious to harm, though this can be broken if one of his attacks is reflected at him.

Dark Beast Ganon

Perhaps the largest version of Ganon being so big he can crush a horse with his hoof, here he is made of pure Malice and drips it as well. He can fire powerful laser beams that dwarf the beams from the Guardians though his eyeballs on his back which are weak to Light Arrow.

  • Caused Hyrule Castle to collapse.
  • Broke out Holy Shackle which restrained his power.
  • Killed the Ancient Sages with his bare hands (after being impaled with a holy blade mind you).
  • Can easily kill several story monsters.
  • Far superior to the likes of Levias who produced this much energy.
  • Far superior to Onox who once created a massive storm.
  • Stopped the Planets rotation himself creating the Endless Night.
  • Even while being heavily suppressed by Zelda he managed to alter to the moon’s rotation.

Speed/Reflexes

  • While slower than Link he is able to keep up with him.
  • -Even as a child Link was fast enough to outrun rays of light and Ganondorf fought his older, faster form.
  • Can dodge point-blank light arrows (Light Arrows have been shown to have the same speed and properties as light)
  • Can flip three times his own height.
  • Jumped twenty feet in the air while carrying two massive blades.
  • Reacted to Beamos lasers.

Durability/Endurance

  • Most versions of Ganondorf are impervious to most forms of harms with a few exceptions such as holy weapons.
  • After the Master Sword temporarily lost its Divine and Holy properties it merely bounced off Ganondorf’s skin.
  • Was only temporarily slowed down after Zelda exhausted all her power trying to hold him back.
  • Took a direct fire blast from Valoo which destroyed everything around him.
  • Laughs off arrows, bombs, and several forms of magic.
  • Survived being hit by the Four Divine Beast at once.
  • Has had his castle fall on him multiple times.
  • Survived being shot by several Light Arrows and being stabbed right through the skull with the Master Sword.
  • After being impaled through the heart with a Divine blade (His main weakness) he broke out of his chains and killed his would-be executioners with his bare hands while taking out the sword and keeping it as his own.

Weaknesses

While far more powerful than many people assume Ganondorf still has his fair share of weakness, most obviously is Holy Based weaponry, while he has gained a resistance over the years Holy weapons are still capable of harming and killing him. Several versions of Ganondorf can be brought down by enough brute force can harm him. And lastly Ganondorf has his own code of honor where he will make a point to keep his word and will occasionally spare his opponent’s life, such as in Ocarina of Time where he spare Link because he showed guts.

King: Even though every time this guy comes up with a plan it always falls on his face. Cut the man some slack, he’s terrorized the land of Hyrule more times than I can count.

Void: You can’t count up to fourteen? He’s not in that many Zelda games you know.

King: Shut up this is my moment. No matter how many times he’s reincarnated, Ganondorf will always make Hyrule suffer with his Power alone.
